Andrew is an Enrolled Agent, licensed by the U.S. Treasury to practice before the Internal Revenue Service. He represents taxpayers for federal and state audits, collections, and appeals. Andrew is an Accredited Business Accountant and an Accredited Tax Preparer through the Accreditation Council for Accountancy & Taxation, where he has served on the Subject Matter Expert Panel. He also has a background in mortgage lending and real estate, having worked with Continental Mortgage & Investment Corp. and founded Manhattan Lending Corporation, a mortgage brokerage firm.
Author of the QuickBooks Ultimate Lesson Guide© DVD, a 16-hour training course teaching the fundamentals of QuickBooks, Andrew has served as an adjunct professor of tax law for the University of North Carolina-Charlotte and Auburn University. He is a member of Intuit’s Trainer/Writer Network, one of 200 accounting and tax professionals globally to be part of Intuit’s Network, and is a participant in the ProConnect Customer Council for Intuit Inc 2018-2021. He is also a contributing author to Intuit Accountants News Central, Intuit’s Tax Pro Blog and several newsletters, CPA Practice Advisor and AccountingWEB, as well as a nationally syndicated tax software expert, founding tax editor for Reviews.com, and current tax editor for Consumer Affairs. As a speaker he has lectured for the National Society of Accountants, National Association of Tax Professionals and various state chapter affiliates. Andrew has been featured in the CPA Practice Advisor, Atlanta Business Chronicle, and has published tax articles in more than a dozen accounting publications and journals. In print and online, his tax and finance advice has been referenced in TIME, Forbes, Wall Street Journal, U.S. News & World Report, USA Today, TheStreet, American Express Open Forum, and Bank of America. As a regular TV news media contributor, he regularly appears CBS, NBC, ABC, Fox Business Network, and various nationally syndicated radio shows.
Before his career, Andrew received his bachelor degree in Accounting and Real Estate from Georgia State University, a place he is still very much involved in. He is featured in the Georgia State University School of Accountancy inaugural alumni newsletter, serves as a mentor for the Georgia State University Robinson College of Business Honors Program and has served as a Board of Director for Georgia State University School of Accountancy.
Andrew is also the founder of Poulos Children’s Cancer Foundation, Inc. 501(c)3 charity, as well as Poulos Productions Network, LLC, an online TV network airing a variety of weekly shows, including Financial Smarts Network. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Real Estate from Georgia State University. Despite all his different jobs and experiences, the passion he holds closest to his heart is the Georgia Special Olympics, where he worked with mentally and physically disabled children. He calls it an “emotionally uplifting experience” that taught him about perseverance in life, no matter what obstacles are thrown your way.
